Our Pohutukawa Tree

Incredible Room I have now adopted, and will care for, our very own Pohutukawa tree. It is the first of its kind within Manchester Street School and we feel very lucky to be the class that gets to have this unique tree to care for. It will be such a beautiful tree, once it flowers.
Here are some photos that show our whole class planting the tree. We all got involved in the process.

Now we have planted our tree we will learn about how to look after it better, throughout the rest of the year, and find out about the special messages and Maori traditions that connect to the Pohutukawa tree.

  1. You are lucky to have that tree Room I. We look forward to seeing it grow. It looks like you had a great Enviro Day!
