Support for Christchurch

In INCREDIBLE I we have been talking about the horrible earthquake that has occured and destroyed so many buildings, but more importantly lives. We are so shocked and upset by what has happened and send our love and support to all the families in Christchurch.
This Friday we will be wearing black and red, Canturbury colours, to support Christchurch. To wear these colours children need to bring a 2 dollar coin to donate to the christchurch fund. As a school we believe this would be a great way to show our support and to actually do something to help start the recovery process.
It would be great to see the children wearing Black and Red and hope that all children can bring along the  dollars.

Just wanted to write a little note to say thank you to all of the parents that attended the information evening last Thursday night, it was great to meet you all and talk to you about the expectations in Incredible I this year. I want you to all know how grateful I am for all the offers of help and even suggestions you have offered, thank you!

This week is going to busy at Manchester Street School we have another Parent, Teacher event, but this time the children are able to come along and teach us oldies some great games, and outrun us on the feild. I would love to see you there! It is on tonight: 5.30-7 Tuesday night, at the school!

Just an extra note about homework this week:

The children will have an opportunity to work on these throughout the week too.

Hope you all have a great week, any questions give me a comment on this post and I can get back to you through the blog :), its a great way to communicate and for us all to get more confident using this amazing learning space :)...

Our Stats Investigations...

Here are our Stats investigations.
We first created Tally charts, went to other classrooms to collect data, and then came back and graphed the final data. The children did really well with creating these, but some still need to work on identifying some of the features a bar graph needs.

Our Published writing space

Here are some examples of Incredible I's publishing boarders.
We have created this as a way of constantly publishing our stories and allowing them to be presented in a neat way. Stories that are put in these folders may appear on the blog also, so keep your eyes peeled for them :).

In strips Name Artwork

Here are some of Incredible Is In strips Name Artworks!
This artwork was to understand the importance of our name and also just used as a way to allow the students in the class to get to know one another better.
It was alot of fun and they look great on the wall.

Our Treaty

This Treaty is signed by all members of Incredible I.
We have placed our handprint and signed to show we agree to and will follow the guidelines that were created by our whole class.
It hangs on our classroom wall to constantly remind us about our agreement.

Homework:

This weeks homework is to use our amazing blog to write feedback about our classroom and talk about the learning that is taking place at the moment.
Incredible I students are going to write how they feel about their amazing classroom and the highlights so far...this could be about the stunning art works completed in the first weeks of school, their hoilday stories or even the statistical investigations they have been undertaking.

WOW! What fun homework I cant wait to see all the feedback :).
