Bike Out!

Yesterday, the 10th of April, was a WONDERFUL DAY!

Incredible I, and the Senior Team, biked as a group From Manchester Street School to Timona Park, in Feilding.

It was a great BUT challenging ride to the park. We were VERY LUCKY to have the police come and escort us and stop the traffic as we rode on the main roads.

During our time at the park we all competed in a range of activities.
The 5 activities were:
Endurance- which involved us riding around a 0.7km track as many times as possible in 30 minutes (some children got up to 11 laps!- That’s 7.7km!).
Figure 8- which was the children biking around a figure 8 shape and having to avoid bumping into others and staying on course.
The Obstacle course- which was a bike route that had a range of different obstacles for the children to ride through. Some of these obstacles were zig zaging around the cones, stopping at signs and intersections etc.
The BMX track- This was a big hit with the children. They all loved going as fast as they could to get the fastest time, which meant they could go in the finals.
Relays- The children formed groups and had races to see who could complete a range of relays with the fastest times.

Here are some photos of the day…

It was such an AMAZING day. We all had so much fun. We know we worked hard because we all felt so exhausted by the end of the day!
