AMAZING Personal Experience Writing by Incredible I students

My Holidays...

Noooooooo, I have to sit in a car for seven hours straight, but Yay I get to go to whitianga and play on the beach and fish with my dad, and … boom! There goes the car.  “Get out, get out, get out!  The car is on fire. Oh no! My sister and cousin are in tears, but thank god for AA we’re saved. Off home we go. Man that was exciting and head rushing.

The next day we took the other car and we made it, with only one worry. The tire wore out, but luckily we had a spare.

Yay were here! Off to bed. My Mum and Dad went to bed while my Brother and I stayed up till two o’clock in the morning watching scary movies. What a blast the first day was.

The next day we went to the beach. I decided to go for a fish and play and swim. I caught a snapper, and ate it for dinner yum yum. The next day I went to the Wharf with my brother and my Uncles and my Cousin. My Sister met us down there, and we all ended up jumping off it. I wasn’t nervous at all. I just ran straight off the end and splash, water flickered everywhere. Then we decided to have a contest of who can make the biggest splash, and my Uncle won.

What a blast the holidays were. We were exhausted and felt as if we were dying. We were all asleep in the car on the way home, accept for Mum and Dad.

Summer BBQ

YES FINALLY ITS TIME woof up goes the BBQ on go the sosies and now the steak, (there going to make good burgers).

Finally there cooked.  I had to set up the table while mum brought everything in. Finally my burger is made I brought it to the table I looked at my next victim. I bit into it, an explosion of sausages and steak smoothed in tomato sauce exploded in my mouth.

I looked at my empty plate. I felt my belly, man I was full. I went to put my plate on the bench, but I could hardly move. I was so full but I managed to get there.

I went and turned on the TV then went and sat on the couch, and   watched some sponge-bob. Ten minutes latter mum came in and told me to go to bed. So I stumbled to bed pulled my blanket over me shut my eyes and went to sleep with the light on.

Man I can’t tell you how much I love summer BBQ’S and getting so full I can hardly move.

Moving

“Beep, beep, beep, beep.” Time to get up. After I got dressed, I crawled through to the living room to find Dad opening the garage door. Noticing me, Dad then said “Come on Gabi, go and start moving some small garage furniture, then go and get some breakfast.”

After carrying several small garage appliances, Dad then asked me if I could help him move the enormous metal cabinets. I ended helping move all three metal cabinets across the road, they weighed a tonne. Suddenly I saw a truck zoom around the corner. I was relieved the truck had arrived, that meant I could finally have some breakfast, I was ravenous.

“Yum, yum” I look up at the clock “nine o’ clock, wow.”  I got up and walked outside to see my friend Jasmine emerge from the truck. I ran over to greet her. We then trekked to my bedroom- Thankfully I already moved my underwear drawer “Phew.” We started to take all of my smallish ornaments and left the bigger pieces for Dad.

Finally after all day of carrying our possessions across the road we had finally finished. At the end of the day I proud because moved nearly all of the little ornaments, on my own but, I felt very exhausted.

Parent/ Teacher Conferences

A note from Miss K...

What a wonderful two nights I have had sharing Room I's amazing learning with parents.
It was great to have a time to sit down and discuss the learning that has been happening throughout term one (and there has been a lot of learning, in such a short amount of time). The children are so proud of their learning portfolios.
I was impressed with how the children spoke about the activities they had completed and the progresses they had taken to complete tasks.

JUST A REMINDER: Portfolios needs be returned by the end of the term please, the eariler the better :).

Thank you,

Miss K
