RUGBY WORLD CUP!

Wednesday the 30th of March Incredible I and the senior team headed down to the information centre to view the Rugby World Cup!

It was alot of fun and we were amazed to be in its presence. We were not allowed to touch it, or even bump the stand... Even though Mr Cribb got a bit carried away :).

Litterless Lunches...

We also had Litterless Lunchbox day on Wednesday the 23rd of March.
This is where the children were to pack a litterless and healthy lunch, something we have been focusing on in class. It was great to see what the children picked up from the lessons...
Here are some of lunches....

And the winning lunch for today is Anais...
Keep on being Litterless children Incredible Room I :)

ENVIRO DAY!

Wednesday the 23rd of March was ENVIRO DAY!
All of Manchester Street school worked hard in the gardens, cleaning up or making things for our school environment. It was a good day, and the weather was able to hold off for us :).

In Incredible I we were able to paint some bird houses that will be placed around the school.
They look GREAT :).

We had such a fun day!- it was a shame that half of us missed out because of the Weetbix Tryathlon...

First we created designs on scrap paper...

Then we drew the pattern on the bird house...

Then we were able to start painting our designs...
Here are our finished bird houses...

'Bike Out'

Wow! What an amazing day weather wise and just overall! Incredible I had so much fun! All the children in the senior team were so great!
The whole team headed off to the park on bikes. We finally got to use the skills we had been learning from our bike safety course. It was great to see the children using hand signals and showing biking skills they had learn't.
Throughout the day the children participated in a range of activities. BMX track, Relays, Figure 8, Obstacle course, Endurance were the 5 main events, which were alot of fun for the children to complete. Though they were alot of fun, they did use up all the childrens energy by 2pm :).

I would just like to say a big thank you to the wonderful parents who gave up their busy day to help us have such a successful day... Without you it could not have been possible! Thank you so much :)!!

Science Road Show, Monday the 14th of March

Incredible I had some great fun at the Fonterra Science Roadshow. We were able to walk to North Street School and have a look at the great displays. These were a great hands on experience and alot of the children learnt alot of new information.

We were able to watch two performances, one on heat and ice while the other was on sense of the body. Overall it was a great, but busy day out.

Miss K and Incredible I would just like to say a BIG thank you to all of those WONDERFUL parents that helped us out! Thank you so much, we hope you found the experience as rewarding as we did :). We couldnt have these experiences without your support and for it we thank you :).

Safe Biking...

For the next few weeks Incredible I and the senior team classes will be partaking in a safe biking course.
This means that all pupils in room I will need to have a bike available from next Monday the 7th of March.
Bikes can be brought to school on Monday morning, placed outside the classroom in coned areas and kept at school until Wednesday the 9th of March. Bikes will be kept in classrooms over night.
This is an exciting and fun time for children, but it is also very important for children to partake as it insures they gain the skills they need in order to ride in a safe way.

We also have the 'Bike Out', the date is still being decided at this stage, but this will be carried out in the next 2 weeks, which is a great way for the children to have some fun and actually use the skills they have been taught. If you would like to take part please return the notice that will be sent home to let us know...

If you have spare bikes available to be used during this time can you please come in and see me, Miss K, to let me know because some children in the room do not have access to bikes and having a spare brought in for them would be greatly appreciated.

Swimming Sports!

Incredible I had a wonderful day on Tuesday at the Makino Pools!
We swam our hardest and had alot of fun, which is the most important thing to do.
Incredible I would just like to say a big thank you to all of those parents who came along to support their children, it was much appreciated.

Incredible I will comment about their feelings towards the swimming sports on Tuesday...
